3. A RAISED EDGE IS ESSENTIAL
A raised edge on the stretcher rail prevents the canvas from resting directly on the flat surface of the wood.
This helps protect the canvas from unnecessary friction and allows the fabric to maintain proper tension.
The edge is rounded to reduce the risk of damaging or wearing the canvas during stretching.
4. ALWAYS CHECK THE RAIL CROSS-SECTION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLING A MODULAR STRETCHER FRAME
Assembling a modular stretcher frame is simple and requires no glue, staples, or additional fasteners.
1. SIDE RAILS
The rails form the frame. Their ends are cut at 45° and have special joints for easy and secure assembly.
2. WEDGES
Wedges are inserted into the inner corners to adjust canvas tension. By gently driving them in, the rails move apart and the canvas becomes tighter.
3. FLOATING CORNERS
The flexible corner joints allow the frame to expand slightly, making it possible to retighten the canvas when needed — similar to tightening a drum membrane.

LARGE-SCALE DRYING FACILITY FOR MODULAR STRETCHER FRAME PRODUCTION
Properly dried hardwood is the starting point for a reliable stretcher frame. Unlike softwood, hardwood requires a longer and more controlled drying process to gradually release internal stresses and preserve the stability of the material.
That is why our production includes large-capacity industrial drying chambers, allowing us to carefully prepare the wood before it reaches the machining stage.

Depending on the drying regime, our chamber complex can process:

FROM A CENTURY-OLD SAWMILL TO MODERN STRETCHER FRAME PRODUCTION
Our production is based at the Sarapul Timber Processing Plant, an export-oriented woodworking facility with a history dating back to 1910. Located in a forest-rich region close to the source of our raw materials, the plant gives us direct access to timber and allows us to control the production process from raw wood to finished product.
